A friend of mine recently started a job in telesales and was asked to sign on first. She thinks its so the company can get paid for employing her. Has anyone heard of this and is it legal?![]()

not too sure of the why´s but a friend of mine was setting up her own business and was advised to do the same by her financial advisor. There is obviously some kind of benefit to someone for this but I don´t think it is anything to worry about.
I know my employer has gained some kind of "help" by taking me off the "paro" but I was being paid.
It doesn´t sound legal at all, but spanish working laws are a bag of crap, no one implements them, not too sure what else to say![]()

I thought it was necessary to have been working with a contract before you could sign on the paro (dole). My sister in law was unable to because although she had a contract, it was for domestic work and when it expired they wouldn't pay any benefit because they said domestic work didn't count. What you are saying about asking them to sign on is probably correct, but surely would only benefit the company if they were obtaining benefit.
CD
You can sign-on CD without ever having a previous job as you are signing on to work, you will of course recive no dole until enough work has been done.
Brian
You will not be the first nor the last person who has signed an acceptance letter and later reject the job offer.Over the course of my career in HR this has happened. Not frequently, but it happens. At most we inquire why you have decided not to join the organization and if we really liked the candidate we would make a counter offer. As another posted, unless you signed some type of employment contract you can reject the offer and merely advise them you have decided to stay at your present place of employment.

Please adhere to the guidelines, thank you

My friend just got a job shelf stacking in Carrefour, he english 19 years old, and was asked to register in the dole office first to say that he is fit and legal to work here. After he got his paper he gave it to carrefour and is now working on a contract.
I feel this is just to manipulate the figures of the dole office.
To clarify the "Dole" , if you work in Spain for a period of time (years) you are entitled to 18 months of 60% of you original pay. After that you have to apply for "ayuda" .
