    looking for a bit of advice

    whats the going hourly rate for a painter?

    I would say no more the 80 - 100 Euros per day. Some Spanish fellows do it even cheap say circa 50 euros for a day of their time.
    Thinks that if all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion

    For a days work I had a man who charged 70 euros, he was not painting though, he fitted new air con unit.
