    Default Unemployed in Spain.

    Hi there.

If you are unemployed in spain (if you initially had a work) what kind of compensation can you expect?

How does it work? I haven't got a clue since i'm a total newbee.

In Sweden, where I live, I have a membership in the "a-kassa" which means I'm paying roughly €60 per month and when / if I get unemployed I'll recieve 80% of my income up to ~€2000 / month (maximum)

.well, if you´re unemployed in Spain tough luck, you may get unemployment benefit if you´ve worked before in Spain before for at leat 6 months, if not you won´t get much compensations at all..

Hi Twinned, You must go to INEM (spanish dole office) To sign on. You may get up to 60% of your earnings for 3 months. But you should sign on anyway there are things like child benefit that you can claim. Take your last contract and wage slips. Etc
