If i hold such a master degree, what jobs can I apply for? Jobs of a trading company? What the title will it be? Merchandiser? How much can I earn if I am a merchandiser? Can I apply for some positions in a bank?

Hi Vinnus, a master in international business will surely give you a head start... Nevertheless to get some more clear answers what else do you posess?

What languages do you speak? Do you speak Spanish? Have you worked in Spain before? And surely most importantly where do you want to work?

Job opportunities differ from Madrid to Malaga...

In fact, I'm a Chinese student who is going to study in UAB. I can speak English and a little Spanish so far, except Cantoness and Mandarin. But I'll keep learning Spanish. For working experience I don't have much, just had an internship in a Chinese foreign trade company and had been to Canton Fair for several times as interpreter or buyer. And I'd like to work in Madrid or Barcelona after graduating from UAB, if everything works out for me. Well...it all depends. So what jobs can I apply for? I think the category of jobs in the West is a bit different from what it is in China. Thus I cannot find a position for which my major is suitable.

Well Madrid or Barcelona are definitely the best to land jobs in important [global] companies. If you have experience that will definitely help. I am sure UAB can help you with internships or connections to prepare for the day when you will start working.

As for the difference in job descriptions, thats always a discrepancy.. Sometimes you read Human Resource Telesales Director and all you end up being is a person sitting on a phone... So don't look too much at the job title, I'd look into global players in your interested field and take it from there...

When are you starting at UAB?

Thank you so much giseleiza. If everything goes well, I will go to Barcelona in the early of November, cuz the course will start at 15th. UAB used to supply opportunities of internship to the alumus of this course, but now they don't. They only provide students with connections of those companies which offer internship.

Hey Vinnus, Barcelona is a great city. You will love it here! I am sure the university or a professor or someone you meet along the course of your studies will be able to help you out with a job/internship.

You will also find that there are several recruitment companies as well as websites where you can find jobs or post your CV....

May I ask on which website you, I mean people in Spain, post your CV usually? I just wanna check out the main requirements of the jobs in my field so that I can get myself prepared for that day.

Hi Vinnus,

The Chinese language is currently very popular at the moment. You might find that you can get some extra cash whilst studying by giving classes. Leave an ad with lots of tear-off bits with your telephone number at places like the University language centre, the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas or the noticeboards in specialist language bookshops.

I'm not too sure what the market is like exactly for Chinese classes, or private language classes, in Barcelona; perhaps someone else could chip in with advice there.
