Hi Anna,
Welcome to the AbsoluteSpainForum. I'm not sure what the legal grounds are for you but as far as jobs go, it is not easy to find work in Spain - especially if you do not speak Spanish. Then again, there are many English companies and some bars/hostels work mostly with foreigners so English would be enough. As for earning potential, probably around 800-1200 Euros per month. Have you been to Spain? Do you know what areas you would like?

Hi Anna,
I know what you mean about Barcleona, I manage the most popular group about Barcelona on Facebook. If you want to keep working with hostels then I strongly suggest the following: a) Sign up on Jobby.es - Find a job in Spain! English speaking jobs in Spain - Latest Jobs and post your CV b) Email your CV to all the hostels in Barcelona c) Contact as many people as you can from Barcelona and let them know you are looking for a job, network, make new friends, even if its just online first d) take full advantage of the AbsoluteSpainForum to get to know people, upload some photos of yourself, and let people know a bit about you and include a reference to your job search or CV in your profile signature. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure this will be a huge leap in your quest to move to Spain!

Hi Ana
As far as the employer helping you with the necessary paperwork. This just doesn't happen. My partner who has just started work in Barcelona had to apply for and get all his paperwork before he could start work and he is a member of the European Union. I had read on a lot of sites during our research that when you find employment the company will apply for your SSID (social security) . But when you actually went for interviews they all stated you must go and get the SSID yourself. It was all time consuming but not complicated as we are British. Being Russian I would expect you will have more difficulty! |
