I have recently bought a property in spain (jijona), and would like to move there as soon as possible. The only problem is, I do not retire for another two years, but am looking for employment in the alicante area, particularly in the waste industry. Would appreciate any suggestions or ideas

Hi geoff.Isaac
When you refer to the waste industry what exactly do you mean?

Ok... I understand that there are companies that for example collect used oil from restaurants. I'm sure this also goes for chemical components for other businesses and also for sanitary waste disposal. Not sure though what exactly you would want to be doing (the actual collecting of the waste or more like a company job).
Your best bet would be to begin looking into what companies provide disposal and recycling of waste services throughout Spain... I know that Ferrovial is the biggest garbage collector in the country...

Waste here, as everywhere else is taken care by a couple of international corporations. Try the branches of WMC or their corporate offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
