    Default bartender in Alicante?

We are 2 girls from Sweden, 19 and 21 years old and we're going to torrevieja the 25:th this month. We are educated bartenders here in sweden and we have a bit experience working behind the bar also. The reason we're going to Spain is because we want to work the whole season in some club/bar.

If there are anyone who could help or give us some tips of bar's/nightclubs where we might have a good chans of getting this jobs, PLEASE answer as fast as you can.

    Thanks!

    /Lina & Yvonne

Good afternoon and welcome to Absolute Spain Forum, the bar trade is suffering in the current climate, many are closing or will not re open. Perhaps some of our members will be able to advise you further.

    Hi Lina & Yvonne,

Welcome to the Absolute Spain Forum... I hope you enjoy it!

The bar trade is definitely suffering so it won't be easy, but if you have experience, speak languages and are hardworking I'm sure you will find work.

Where in Spain do you want to work?

    Thanks for the reply.
We want to work in Alicante (or near) because we got our residence in Torrevieja. I'm thinking, Spain is a huge tourist attraction and a lot of swedish tourist are goint there every summer. So would'nt is be easy to get a job at a place where many tourist are visiting? Just becasue for example swedish bartenders are most likely to attract swedish tourist to this clubs?

Yes this would be your best bet. I suggest you make a small CV on one A4 page including contact details (Spanish cellphone!) a short description about experience and a big photo. Write it in Spanish, English, Swedish or whatever languages you know... Then once you are there go to all the bars and ask to see the manager. Give them that and have a chat. Chances are they will either hire you straight away or they will keep the CV and get back to you the day they need someone.

    IMPORTANT:

Don't waste time including a long list of past experiences, the CV is for a bar job so make everything relevant to that.

Don't include an international phone number, no owner or bar manager will waste money calling an international cell phone, or send an email... Get a cheap Spanish prepaid card and include that number as contact details.
