Hello Jeff & welcome.
I take it you are talking about a UK vehicle ?.
If its an import it will need an engineers report, an MOT & payment of the import tax, and if you are not the registered keeper there will be a further charge.
Import Tax is based on the value of the vehicle & they decide the value.
I used my local Gestor to arrange / take care of all the paperwork for a small charge (much easier) and they also have an office in Valencia City BTW.

A gestor is an agent who works for you, they are known by all the places you would need to go and know their way around quickly, can save you a lot of money. We have access to one who is a sweet wee man who definately saved us the time and frustration of doing vehicle paperwork.

Hi, I too live in Valencia, i too paid a gestor to register my car. I paid 1300€ 2 years ago for a 3 year old peugeot 206cc. i had to change the lights, but only the front ones as my fog and reversing lights are in the middle at the rear.
I had to meet the engineer and do the ITV (MOT) but it was all very easy and saved me a lot more money than if i had sold and rebought.
