    Default Pets in Spain

Our lovely cat is 18 now and a little bit arthritic. She wears a special collar purchased from the vet and that helps her a little, she is still a cutie and knows how to play my OH for example when she wants to come upstairs she stands and the bottom of the stairs and meows and he (knowing his place) goes down to act as her stair lift. I wonder who rules our house ;-)

Our dog has not been eating lately, and looked unwell, On bathing him I found two Garrapatas. They are small insects, that look like a cross between a spider and a crab. As soon as they were removed, he began eating again. The vet recommended a Scalibor collar. It lasts throughout the summer (6 months)and prevents not only Garrapatas, but mosquito bites, which can cause leishmaniosis, as well as keeping fleas, flies and other insects away. For just over 24 euros it seems a good investment. Also it doesn't smell, and isn't affected by rain. Although it should be taken off to bath, it should be kept on day and night.

(I followed on from Jaz, thinking this was the thread for pets. Both our posts are on the wrong thread. Can they be transferred, or do we have cancel and re-write them)

    Default High quality dog food

Does anyone know if there is a mail order pet food service in Spain? We are in Sitges, and would love to find a place that sells/sends food for an exclusion diet which we have used in the US and Switzerland.

    thanks,

    keatsfan

When you think it can't get worse............................................. ....

A youth in Pinoso, Alcante has been arrested for setting fire to somebodys pet dog..Almost the whole town have demonstrated, and are demanding the maximum prison sentence available. The dog suffered serious burns to it's back and legs, but it's believed that it should recover. ....I can't write what I think they should do to him...

With the hot weather here to stay, I am off to get my dog Lucas's hair cut..He hates having it done, but is so happy afterwards. When he sleeps on the tiles instead of in his bed, I know its time. I have started using the pool, which although unheated, is just about warm enough, and will get warmer day by day, although the sea here is much warmer already.

I found one called HealthyPets (Healthypets). They have a variety of top quality foods. We are having a bit of an issue getting a 15kg bag delivered, but that is not HealthyPets issue and they have been great in trying to solve it for us.

keatsfan..I hope you get your dog food before it gets too hungry. .One of the advantages of being on this forum, is that you normaly get an answer to your questions..I haven't been able to find a gardener for Val in Sevilla province yet, but I'll keep trying.
