Yes as of December 2009 the minimum age for Spaniards to take there driving test is 18.
But as you are English and english law say's you can drive a car at 17 , then you can drive a car here on a full Uk driving licence.
You might have to wait a year to get a spanish driving licence, but as we are all in Europe stick to your UK licence.

Good luck with your move. You are young enough to be able to give it a whirl and, if it doesn´t work out for you, well at least you will have tried and you can move on to something else.

Do let us know how it goes.

My Daughter and her Boyfriend moved to Fuengirola last April. She has a degree in Travel and Tourism and quite good Spanish. The only work they could get was telesales. They earnt a basic of 150 euros and then got commission as well. They managed to live quite well, but if they didn't reach their sales targets they lost their jobs. She came to the conclusion that they didn't like not knowing if they would have a job the next week so returned to the UK in November. If you manage to get a bar Job the most you will earn is about 5 euros an hour. It is very hard to get a job with any sort of security over here. If I were you I would think very hard before making the move!!

I understand what you are saying, I already know my girlfriend can get some part time work cleaning, thats guaranteed as it's one of my dads properties that he needs a new cleaner for. We also know a bar owner who may have some work going so thats another possibility.

It's a lot to base on my website but that in itself will not only allow my girlfriend to find cleaning jobs etc but also generate a reasonable income for myself.
