Default We comming to Spain... We need some advices

Hello! First off all I want to say I'm new here on the forum. Me and my girlfriend we want to move in Spain. She speaks a good spanish but me... I'm a begginer.

Ok... I want to know how hard is for my girlfriend to find a job as nurse or caretaker of elderly. They are many clinics and institutions in Spain, so maybe we can find something in short time.

As for me... I wonder if I can find a job as a driver or an IT job (as web or grafic designer), even I'm a begginer in spanish language.

What are our chances to find a flat to rent, something cheap?

Thank's in advice. Any sugestions from you guys are welcome.

Hola! We want to move somewhere in south or south-east of Spain, like Valencia, Murcia or Tarragona. But, if we find some job anywhere else, we can move in other city or province.
My girlfriend have to homologate her certificate and I found that takes several months.
We are convinced to move in Spain and to do all we must to make this dream come true.

    Thanks!

Hi and welcome from the mountains of the Sierra Sur de Jaén. We are a friendly bunch on here and try to give help to those who need it and put a smile on the faces of those who don't.

It will help us to help you if you give us as much information as possible. You can start by filling in the profile. Where are you coming from? From your English, it appears to be not your first language, what about your girlfriend, what are her languages and qualifications?

We are from Romania. I speak only romanian and english and my girlfriend speaks romanian, spanish and english.
Also, my girlfriend is licenced in psychology (university degree) and nursing school (post-highschool graduate).
I have some experience (more than 10 years) in web and grafic design, but for begining I can start as a driver, especialy that I love to travel. I don't have a highschool graduate diploma, only an certificate of highschool graduate.

    Hi Honey
I suspect your girlfriend will find work relatively quickly especially if she is willing to care for older people. There is quite a demand. I don't know about your field at all so have no idea how easy you will find it. Good luck with your search.

I havent found that the case. I'm a carer/nurse and yes I have found a few jobs, but they are totally irregular hours and very poorly paid (5€ an hour) - in fact I was given a job in an old folks home and they phone me when they need me - so far that has happened twice in the two years I've been here. I'm also on a few waiting lists. One list had 39 people on it, I was the 40th!!

Certainly on the Costa del Sol the place is awash with Web and Graphic Designers and almost all of them are struggling (although to be fair it's because most of them are useless!).

Hi Honey,on the jobs that you have mentioned you do not have a very good chance Spain has millions unemployed and they have been the worst country affected by the recession so unless you speak Spanish very well and in the case of Tarragona speak catalan you have next to no chance. That said if you are more creative with your thinking you should look to be self-employed eg. set up a cleaning business cars, houses, etc. or do a market stool, buy wholesale sell retail, there are loads of s/e opportunities in spain......Romainia makes lots of cheap household furniture for the UK market ,.... So import it to Spain and sell it retail if you buy a container load at a time you should get credit terms, but check your market first.
