Default Three Whinges and You're on an easyJet

My financial situation is pretty much basic but does it matter as much in Spain? As a friend of mine pointed out. What have the millionaires and lottery winners got that we haven't? They must wonder why they bothered.
Here we have wonderful weather and no shortage of pleasant lifestyle options, and on the cheap too. I have been on the beach today; swimming. Shortly off to join friends; a band playing at the plaza at Punta Prima. Total cost? A glass of wine. Today's typical.
But look at the letters pages in newspapers. Correspondents whinging about this or that; political parties no one has ever heard of scoring points off each other. The cost of this or that; bills! One gripe after another.
Might it not be a good idea to initiate a 'Three Gripes and You are Out!' policy? Three whinges and you get a free easyJet or Ryanair ticket to the UK.
That's my gripe out of the way -

I work long days all week, but every weekend I feel as though I am on holiday in Spain! I love it! That friday night feeling before going on holiday is amazing and I feel it every week.
Donīt pay much attention to politics, canīt believe any of them anyway so leave it alone, we can always find something to gripe about, wat with the grass always being greener an all that, but I donīt have a garden any more.. .! weather, another reason to moan....Its bloomin hot today, excellent bring it on!
I havenīt looked back, enjoying life in the sun.

More power to you mate, thats as it should be. I had it when we lived there and appreciated it then, I will do it again and this time I will cherish it and guard it with my life. My Dad always said "life isnt hard, people make it hard" Keep the faith.!

I lived there for 6 years and loved every minute of it. Personal and work committments now mean I'm based back in the UK but can't wait to get back out there, working on my escape plan as we speak.

    One day Rodney....

These postings are like unearthing notes passed between inmates at Stalag 11V as they plan their escape. You're supposed to be escaping TO England, not FROM it. lol.
I had a brilliant flyer I used to use at properties abroad exhibitions: It was headed, 'The Great Escape.' When I chatted to people I always broke the ice by saying: "Hi, I am the organiser of the Escape Committee.' It completely disarmed visitors. They always grinned, knowing exactly where I was coming from.

Tips on how to make it....
plan well and if possible with a backward escape route (even the best plans can have hitches)
be very wary, use solicitors with a well known reputation
have plenty of "skills" under your belt, not just for work options but for refurbishments of house/flat (not renowned for "finishing" touches out here!)
learn the language, or atleast get a good grasp of it
if it sounds too good to be true... then it more than likely is!
donīt expect anything to happen over night, or even quickly!
work at it, its well worth it!

good luck to all you trying to get over here, I didnīt actually know or use any of those tips I mention! and know I have been very lucky, looking back, I could so easily have fallen into so many bad situations.

    Spanish Property 2012

Lets call our first tunnel "Denia" We can start another couple named "Benidorm" and "anywhere but here" in case we're rumbled. Im a bit claustrophobic but was once involved in a tunnel called "The channel" Negotiated that ok andsuccessfully escaped to Spain. Re captured and arrived back in the UK 16 years ago and have been planning my escape ever since. Good advice about coming back, I'm under no illusions about how hard it will be. I will never sever all ties in the UK like last time.It has taken me this long to get reasonably straight and I still have a mortgage where most of my mates are done with all that. Its just frustrating having (I beleive) so much to offer but that applies here too. My Spanish was getting quite good but is rusty now,(a bit like me) though it wont take long to polish up (a bit like me) I will always keep the faith. Charlie
