Default Will i feel better by the sea?

I've had spinal surgery of double hernia 1year 9 months ago and since then have been in constant pain. It's from a month now I feel better. The locals say I'm going to feel the pain every winter, because the climate here is like in UK,it rains a lot.I'm really used to dry air.So we've been thinking of moving to Spain cos of this. But i read on other forum somebody said humidity by the sea could be a problem.I'd like to here an opinion from people with similar experience/or somebody you know/.We are trying to decide where should we move-by the sea or Madrid, because it depends as well of chances for my husband to work,he is a boilermaker.

Good morning magnolia good to see you here the humidity even inland has been higher this last year than when I first came about 4 years ago. The damp air can seem to seep into your bones and make you feel cold which may well make you feel worse. Have you asked your doctor what kind of climate may help ?

I hope someone comes along to give you a more helpful answer soon.

Hope today is a less painful one.

Hello,Val,and thanks for your kind concern. No,I didn't consult any doctor,I'd better hear from somebody from the place,Spain.I know it was cold this winter there, but what about us here in Belgium, not to mention other places. And the and of the day it's better humidity in Spain, than where I am/don't want to think about this crunch thing/.

Awe don't cry, if it is meant to be it will happen. I was in Brussels a few weeks ago and it was warmer than England had been thankfully If you are set on moving to Spain then maybe inland would be better, I love being outdoors also, great when we can eat all our meals on the patio and cool down in the pool

I have lived inland in Cordoba, and now live near the coast in Alicante province. The coast is definately more humid. When there is no wind, cars are wet in the morning and washing left out overnight is wetter than when put out. I prefer the coast here because in general, the winters are warmer and the summers cooler.. the dampness soon disappears when the sun comes out.

    Also the area around the Torrevieja salt lakes is known as one of the healthiest places to live. (That is a fact, and not just estate agents talk.}

As someone who has had back surgery I fancy that an even temperature would be better for you.
That being the case ? then somewhere just inland along the southern coast would suit you best, or on the coast if you can find such a place that is not heaving with people & property's.

    Cool

Hey you, Magnolia may want to be around people and property
as an ex orthopaedic nurse I can tell you you would be better in a warmer climate the old bones like a bit of sunshine, depends where yyour hubby can find work which is not that easy in coastal areas you need to be in an industrial town for that type of work or at least within driving distance and look for the job 1st if you need it to survive.
As CDThader says the area around the salt lakes is one of the healthiest places in Europe

Thanks for your responds, people,I really try to balance things, and it's not easy, because we are in working age.I'd like to be around other people,I'm very much social person, can't stay alone.I'm a teacher, used to noisy surrounding,so maybe I can find something to do with kids everywhere/if they are some around/.I'm doing babysitting now,so this is one thing I know I can do.I' worry just because I've been told by my surgery doctor that I was going to be able to drive across Europe 1 month after my surgery, and this is definitely not the case. That is why I'm asking an opinion.Little bit long post to explain myself. And I read about "mud baths" and salt lakes, probably this is very good idea. Thanks again for advices and patience to read this.

    Spanish Property 2012

San Pedro del Pinatar has a nice climate and its natural mud baths are visited by many a Spaniard for the natural healing/holistic properties. That said work on the Costas is a little scarce right now however there are a few large cities nearby for example Cartagena, Murcia……..

Anyway wishing you all the best with your planned move.....;-))

Have you tried searching for companies that make boilers in any of the areas you fancy living in and then making tentative enquiries about job prospects?

Thinks that if all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion
