Kay living in the UK is much more expensive than Spain....for example two months rates in the UK equates the roughly the annual Spanish bill........food is much more expensive.....houses (both rental and purchases) are more expensive and there are many people without work in the UK also.....

You may as well struggle on that beautiful island as struggle in this miserable country. I can assure you that things are no better here. If I could run my business in Majorca I would go tomorrow.
Goo luck, I`m sure your luck will change soon

Having lived in Sussex, 10 miles north of Brighton, the so called, Home Counties, well 2nd homes for your good old bent MP, we were and truly shaffted!!. In Sussex we paid a total of two thousand five hundred pounds plus per annum for Council Tax, Water Rates and Electricity. Gas was about 600 pounds per year and vehicle tax was 300 plus tv licence.
Here my IBI etc and car tax comes to 300E PER YEAR!!!!
Stick it out and you will be rewarded.

The first survival option is to tighten belts. No kidding; most of us have morphed indulgences to necessities. Think trip to supermarket. 90 per-cent of it wasn't there twenty years ago and we were happier then. At a guess, and my hospital doctor son agrees with me, we eat at least 50 per-cent more than we need to to keep ourselves healthy.
Google up the composer Frederic Chopin. He moved to Mallorca in 1838. It rained! So while you are at it Google up The Raindrop Prelude. It was inspired by the persistent tap of raindrops on his bedroom windows. Absolutely charming. See, tough times on the island then too. He left it very saddened.

Keddyboy is right, as are others. Returning to the UK is a classic case of frying pan - fire. As a single bloke I live quite happily on £500 (€570) a month in Spain.
My ex rents a pretty standard semi in Wrexham, which with running costs comes to just short of £1,000 a month. Still thinking UK? Hey, if you are here you are an adventurous soul. There's places abroad where there's considerable opportunity - and Brit support systems, far cheaper than the UK.
