    Default Madrid to Barcelona

So I'm arriving in Madrid next Thursday... Will be staying for a few days of sighsteeing and proper tourist activities then off to look at Barcelona

Any suggestions as to what the best way would be to get from Madrid to Barcelona? I read about a high speed train... But I'm wondering if its not better to grab a flight, I hear there are dozens everyday?

Personally I love the high speed train, especially if you opt to go first class.....it´s a really nice relaxing experience and very good value for money since it includes a meal.

We also enjoy travelling first class, though if you want a vegetarian meal you need to book it in advance. We always check the website in Spanish as well as English, having discovered once that the special offers weren't showing up in English! Also, once you are 60 you can get a tarjeta dorada for 5€, which gives you discounts on Renfe.
