    Default Your mobile phone

I just wanted to do a quick straw poll - are you happy with your mobile provider in Spain? If not, what would make you switch to a new mobile provider? We are currently researching the possiblity of launching a new mobile network in Spain (and would obviously offer, with the mods approval, free SIM cards to all Absolute Spain Forum members!

    Thoughts greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I live in Spain and seldom use my mobile to make any type of calls. I text within Spain with my Spanish mobile ( Pre pago Movistar) no problems. Phone calls abroad of which there are few less than one a month I use my landline. I use skype to talk to family and friends in Uk and elsewhere. I have a UK pay as you go mobile which I use for two contacts only and my credit last for ages and ages I swear it goes up not down sometimes. It can be a pain to top up and normally I do it on my UK visits or get a voucher bought there by family or friends and just punch in the number.

    I don't 'fix' anything that ain't broke :-)

    Sounds great!

I'd say I'd appreciate the card being easy to top up via the web (PayPal or via Credit Card)...

You'd certainly be able to top-up online via PayPal or credit/debit card and we'd offer the option of auto top-up which would top your account up with credit when you are running low so you'd never run out again.

We'd run initially on a prepaid only basis, but would support data so it would work in your BlackBerry. What deal do you currently have?

    Thank you.

It's a company plan with data and mobile internet for the laptop. For business its convenient.. But for a personal line I always prefer simple pay as you go... Top up when needed.

What I love about my Spanish Vodafone PAYG (and this is true of other networks here) is that I can pop into the video shop on my way into town (and lots of other places including supermarkets) to top-up. I tell them the network, my number and how much (usually 5€) and most of the time my phone bleeps to confirm the top-up before I have even handed my money over. I find it much more difficult back in the UK, when I want to top-up my UK Vodafone PAYG, fiddling around with pieces of paper!

    Spanish Property 2012

I have a contract with Orange recently changed from Vodafone. An iPhone4 came with the deal and included in the package are more landline and mobile calls than I make on a monthly basis. There is also internet included and I pay around €40 per month. I only use it here in Spain and have a calling card to call Britain (usually World Call). I am with Tesco Mobile PAYG back home.
