I just ran across this article about NetFlix launching in Spain as early as Jan. 2012. For those of you who don't know Netflix, it is a bit like LoveFilm.

They pioneered the mailing of DVDs in the US, but are moving quickly into streaming online. I assume this will be the method offered in Spain. I am already using it through a proxy service and the biggest problem is the catalog of movies available for streaming is not as large as that for mailing. But this is improving quickly.

Looks like Spain has a bit of a piracy problem and they think offering a lower cost alternative might work. Time will tell...
