    Default Saint Anne celebrations

This takes place over the last weekend in July, does your vilage/town have a fiesta ? what form does it take ? I have been told this wee village has two days of celebrations, they erect a stage in the main square and there is to be an orchestra at least. Whats it all about can somebody tell me thank you :-)

St Anne (or Hanna in Hebrew) was apparently the mother of the Virgin Mary..and according to the Catholic church, and Islam, the Grandmother of Jesus. She is the Patron Saint of Grandmothers, as well as some towns and villages. She is celebrated the last weekend in July. No doubt Grandmothers will be a major part of the religious procession. It is also an excuse to party, which the Spanish are very good at doing.....enjoy Val if you will still be there.
I haven't heard of it being celebrated in my area, but will be looking.
