Our ants are mostly in the outside walls of the balcony. We don't get much problem in the house (x'd fingers). However, it has occured to us that they have called a strategic truce while they regroup and prepare for a new campaign of terror. I think someone once said that the likes of ants an scorpions would be the only survivors of a nuclear attack so we wonder whether they will survive whatever we throw at them...

There is something going on! There is outside the door to the patio and on the patio itself usually a swarm of flies attracted to a smelly drain (reminder to get that sorted out) and a proliferation of ants trying to get nourishment out of the plant pots and tubs. I usually take delight while I am watering to try to drown as many of the ants as I can and, by turning the hose onto mist, saturate and down as many flies as I can. But today, only three flies and about a dozen ants, most disappoint sport.
It is too quiet; I'm sure the insect world is up to something in the nature of revenge. The only real living creature I saw was one of the lizards |

We were infested with those very tiny ants, so before going to the UK for a week, put down the raid white houses in the kitchen and other places where we regularly see them. Since returning we haven't seen a single ant in the house..well worth buying from Mercadona.

The last two tins of ZUM have failed to have any significant effect so stopped buying it now stick with the white houses. The yellow don't seem to be as good.

Not particularly. There are still no ants this morning, it might be that all the stuff we have been feeding them of late has finally had an effect. It was a real pleasure to stand on the balcony this morning and not suffer an ant attack while watching the aerial acrobatics of the swallows and the co-ordinated formation flying of the starlings. |

Our wee dog does not go near them I cannot say for sure if they are we get them in either carrefour or Hypecor. I know for a while they disappeared from the garden and we found the [U]rats[U] were eating them. No idea if it did them any harm but we did not see any for a while.

Well the little buggers kept climbing up onto the terrace & we daily attacked them with allsorts (not bassets) Still they came, so rolled the sleeves up and made it my mission to call around their place and give them some grief, one big hole later & a lot of dead ants, job done !
Next day they regrouped and started back up Read about the Raid white house Jobie on here and bought one today, well the little buggers love the thing and are busy carting the poison off home. Time will tell ? Brian |
