If you've paid your insurance contributions and have a valid NIE number then you will be entitled to state benefits like everybody else, regardless of being autonomo.

No your soc.sec. contributions are for healthcare and nothing else; at least that is what my friend was told when he applied after 6 years autonomo. I have many Spanish neighbours, all autonomo, and none of them get anything.

Autonomos are still fighting to get some kind of unemployment benefit but hasnīt gone through yet, god knows how long will that take, If you check with the INEM office they should be able to help you further, and sometimes, depending on where you live, the local government, say the "Xunta de Galicia" if youīre in Galicia, or the Generalitat if you are in BCN has some kind of "subsidios", pensions, but itīs best to find out straight from them īcouse Iīm not 100% on which or what you need to ask for,
