We spent Saturday night with family, before they go back to england. We went to the local chinese to celebrate some birthdays. Sunday my daughter, husband and I went to the fair. This week we have lots of activities in Los Alcazares, including the disembarkment of the Berberiscos on the beach. We also have a medieval market, theatre events and fireworks coming up as well as the traditional easter parades. So lots going on this week for me and my dd to enjoy I hope everyone else is having a good easter break

Semana Santa started on Sunday with a pilgrimage of sorts. After 4 years of talking about it we finally hiked up Mount Cielo (1508 Mts). It was a 6 and a half hour walk and don't my legs feel it now.

Jueves Santo we are going to watch the local procession in Nerja that starts at 10pm. We usually watch from a tapas bar as the procession walks by. Once they have marched passed we are going to take in some "music en vivo" until 2am. This is normally the time that the procession makes it back to the Church at the Balcon.

Viernes y sabado santo is not definite yet but there are two things on the list. One is the annual trip to Málaga for the processions. The other will be a first trip to Riogordo to watch the re-enactment performed by the locals.

Obviously doming santo will be completely dominated by golf in the morning and watching the final day of the Masters!

Sounds like you have a busy week ahead and an enjoyable one, I think the smaller pueblos have more happening and sound like something we should look at doing when we have more time.

Lets see what the weather is going to do, its rained quite hard, no correction, it has 'persisted it down' the past few years and put the kibosh on the parades. Last year Jesus on the Cross had been propped up in the corner and they had all gone into the nearest bar!!
Still, living here is reward enough for me.

OOpps not quite the image you think of for easter parade. Aye Sevillas' Feria de Abril is known for wet weather hope not we have friends for Scotland here during that week and we want to let them experience some of it without real muddy feet. So far this week weather been good here sunny with some wind but no rain.

A miracle! I actually did everything as planned for once. Even fitted in an extra night! The highlight without doubt was "El paso de Riogordo". They are repeating it at night on the 31st July and 1st August at 10pm. Well worth a visit!

I have added a link to my blog if anyone is interested in the event.

That sounds like a great afternoon and should be quite spectacular at night. If you had not already done so you should add the events to the calendar on here with some background details.

I had a quick look at your blog, sorry but I had to laugh at your airline story, one disaster after another! I hope you did enjoy your stay in Venice in spite of it all.

I have added it as an event in the calendar. Well worth a visit!

The mere mention of "Iberia" is still a bit of a sore subject. We are still awaiting a reply from their complaints department. I would strongly advise anyone to stay clear of them, especially flying from Madrid. Their customer service is the worst I have ever witnessed anywhere.

Still, Christmas in Venice was fantastic even if I did put on a few kilos!
