IŽd agree with the country boy - Linea Directa (Direct Line) in the UK should be able to cover you in both countries.

Try Abbeygate Insurance, based in Gibralter, with office in UK as well (www.AbbeygateInsure.com) We used them to insure my wife's car when we first moved here. Now we have a Spanish car and insure with Reale.

The company i insure with, Liberty Seguros, comes with a permanent green card ( on the insurance certificate ) extending the full comp. policy to anywhere in Europe for unlimited time. In addition if you insure an English registered car with them, every tuesday and friday they notify DVLA in the U.K. of every vehicle that has been insured that week meaning that if you go back to the U.K. and are stopped by traffic police, your insurance details are there. Something to think about for those running around with no tax and mot's! Even one man i came across who had declared his car SORN ( statutory off road notice ) in the U.K. and had it insured and itv'd here! Could be arrested even if they fly back.
