I am still awaiting to find out whether I am entitled to a tax rebate for last year. Once the Spanish tax office get your money, they don't like to return it..My government pension is taxed at source in the UK. I declared it and was taxed 700 euros on the part I am allowed before paying tax. I have since been told that I didn't need to declare it. Do you think I have a case David?
If you have income in Spain and are resident in Spain, then you should declare it. However, the tax paid in the UK should have been offset under the Double Taxation Treaty.
I realise that my comments have to be quite general, I think you need a Gestor or Abogardo dealing with this issue
The UK authorities and their Swiss counterparts have announced a crackdown on the billions of £ sterling / Euros / Sw Francs held in secretive accounts.
Tax evaders beware.
Tax avoidance, of course, is legitimate and distinction could not be clearer.
