Default Need Help with Resident Visa (self-employed) - How much $$ do I need to qualify?

    Hello,

I am wondering whether anyone here has successfully applied for Resident Visa - Self-employed?

What is the minimum bank balance I need to have in order to qualify for such application?

A Lawyer from Strong Abogados immigration services told me that I need about 80.000 €!!!!!! Or another option is to get an residence permit (non working visa) which requires about 50.000 €.

So from the information she told me, the barrier of entry is actually lower for someone who only plans to live and not work.

80.000 € is a lot of capital one needs just to be able to work as a self-employed teacher.

Hopefully someone could help me with the query or simply give me a few tips or guidance?

    Assistance would be muchly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

Hi Oui, and welcome to the Forum.

I cannot give you much help, but I would think that the difference in capital, required between getting a working Visa and a non-working Visa, is because registering as a self-employed worker, you will have to pay into the Social Security System, which is not cheap, therefore they will want to know that you have the money to make the payments.

I am sure there will be others who can give you more informative advice.
