Hello Nick and welcome to Absolute Spain, I hope you enjoy your stay.
As to Spanish wills I am sorry I cannot help you with that ( although it is something I should be thinking about) hopefully someone will come along that has some useful information. I have moved your post to the legal and Financial section. |

Nick, No you do not need to be a resident. Consult a gestor or solicitor, discuss what you want in the will and he will arrange for you to go infront of a Notaria who will make sure you have a will drawn up in both languages , one being your native tounge.

Nick,
You dont need to be a resident in Spain. A spanish will can be drawn up and notarised in the UK then registered at the central will registry in Madrid. Its prob best that you also have your UK will reviewed so that they are in harmony. I just joined this site as used to work for a law firm specialising in Spanish & English wills and looking to operate my new business from Spain (Zaragoza). Not sure about the rules on here re mods etc as i've only just joined, however if its acceptable to the mods - please feel free to email me and ill provide you with further info and point you to my website. Just dont want to get banned after initially joining! If you have any further questions - just let me know. Edward |

Ok - i've had a look. Im not including any emails or websites in my post (noot until after 5 posts i think) etc so dont think im breaking any rules. Let me know if i'm wrong about this though as its really not my intention to break the rules.

Good reply to Nicks question. Legal beagle always handy, especially in a country where it does take a sledgehammer to crack a nut!!!!!
