    Post Looking to move to the beautiful city of Granada

    Hello,

    My name is Liz and I am currently looking to move to Granada. I'm not sure exactly when but I'll be joining a company in Avenida de la Constitución pretty soon. I was hoping to get some advice on housing. Is it hard to rent a cheap 2-bedroom apartment around there? Also, my daughter just turned 6 in January and will start school next September. Can someone give me references about International Schools (American or British education based on the national curriculum). Is it easy to get around there using public transportation?

    Hope someone gets back to me on this.
    Looking forward to it!

    Liz Hi;

    I cannot comment on schooling in Granada since my kids are all grown up and independent!

    I too would recommend Kyero as a means of identifying rental properties and there are several agencies in the City too.

    Public Transport in and around Granada is generally very good and well used and City Buses have a flat fare of 1Euro which you can pay to the driver.

    Longer distances are covered by ALSA formerly known as Alsina Graells.

    Fares on these services too are very cheap. We live about 50Kms from the city and a single on the bus is just 3.85 Euros...

    There are direct train services to Almeria, Sevilla and Madrid. To get to Malaga however it is necessary to change trains.

    Driving in Granada City is a nightmare with much of the City Centre being off limits to private cars during normal shopping hours.

    There is a website which you may find to be a source of local information.

    Hope some of this helps...
