Thread: Closer to our dream

Hi people my name is Bob and the wife is Tracey we are new to the site and are looking to move to Spain in the next few years,we intend to holiday in Spain on a regular basis to see what areas we like and hope to meet some of you when we are there to discuss the good and bad points of moving abroad .I would also like to say what an informative site this is

hi Bob & Tracy, nice to see people who are still (given the economic climate)planning a new adventure I think you are being wise in planning to take hols to select the area you wish to settle,but don't just stick to "holiday" destinations. Do your research well, and decide if you want a coastal place or inland, a place full of expats or just a few. Plan your finances well, as exchange rates today can be crippling, but with a litttle bit of planning it can be a minor problem. Don't expect to have a "wee bit of Britain" and tryto fit in with locals and you'll do okay.

I lived in Hong Kong for 13 years before settling on Spain as a place to live and in the short time I have been here(under a year) I KNOW I made the right choice.
