Thread: hi everyone

hope you can maybe give me some advice on moving to spain.
me, my husband and 12 year old son are moving to costa blanca
in may this year, we want to put our son in an international school
but dont know which one, most are very expensive and the places
around the schools to rent are also very pricey, would like to be a bit
further out but not too far a drive from a school could anyone give
me some advice

Not sure what part of the Costa Blanca you are moving to but there are several locations which offer very affordable long-term accommodation options:

Benidorm
Torrevieja
Javea
Albox
Mojacar

As for schools are you looking at an international school or a Spanish school?

we are looking at maybe British School of Alicante which seems quite pricey or Sierra Bernia School which is cheaper but long term rentals around this area are expensive so just trying to work out what to do for the best

Hello and welcome Costa de La Luz, sorry I don't know the area you are looking at nor do I have children of school age. ( I am Scottish though )

I am sure you will some helpful information on the forum. Have you tried a search for schools on here or checking the local forum for the area you would like ?

Not sure if they are the size you are looking for but this should give you a decent overview of what's available:

In Alicante:

2 Bed, 1 Bath, 60sqm for 490 euros per month

2 Bed, 1 Bat, 70sqm for 330 euros per month

In Alfas del Pi:

2 Bed, 1 Bath 56sqm for 450 euros per month

2 Bed, 2 Bath, 70sqm for 450 euros per month

thanks for your reply, no we are not looking for employment in spain as my husband
works on an oil rig on the north sea, he works for 2 weeks and gets three weeks at home,
will hopefully be out in may to enjoy the weather and get away from all the rain in scotland
