Hi Debbie
It's great that your daughter is so positive, as I think that is the main issue when you hear about older children finding it harder to settle down. If a teenager doesn't want to leave their friends, they are bound to find it tougher. Good news too that she is learning Spanish already and in those circumstances it will definitely be better for her to integrate with local children. How is your Spanish? Unless you are fluent already your daughter will soon be showing you up!

haha, i'm sure she will do Sue but we are learning together so hopefully i can keep up for now as i already know a little and then after she becomes fluent she can be my translator!! haha
i see you live in the Murcia area, we are researching schools/rentals in the area at the moment-El Algar to be precise. i dont suppose i could pick your brains if you have any info on the area??
Debbie
Hi Debbie
I don't know El Algar unfortunately, so can't help you there. Perhaps if you put El Algar into google it will come up with something? Maybe another website forum with members from there?
Going back to you being a qualified hairdresser, we have noticed a couple of new hairdressers opening in Jumilla, and one that appeared to have closed down has recently re-opened in larger premises, so you may find that hairdressing is your best bet work-wise. Spanish women seem to get their hair done much more than I ever did even when I was working! It seems to be a necessity rather than a luxury, even with the "crisis"!

Hi Luvspain, My daughter is 13, she goes to a really modern posh school in San Miguel de Salinas, just outside torrevieja. People try to move closer just to get there kids into this school. She is really intergrated into the spanish community. She goes horseriding EVERYDAY, and does many fiestas on her horse.
The coast is ok, but so is living 10 mins from the coast. I can see the sea from my lounge window. So it cant be that far away.
Feel free to ask anyquestions.
