Helpful tips about the forum, your profile and posting.
Before you start posting, it is not too much to ask that you read and adhere to the few simple guidelines ( you clicked them as read ) which are there for good reasons. If you have a query about them please use the 'contact us' facility provided, which can be found at the bottom of every page in the dark blue line.
Your profile ..... It would be great if you could take a few minutes to fill in some basic details initially, you can always go back and add more.
Location is worth filling in, the exact village is not necessary but a clue to the area is good, dual locations if you are not resident here is helpful to other members when answering any queries you have.
Sex and age It is useful for all members to know whether you are male/female. If you don't want to show your age then maybe in your biography you could put an age bracket 40/50 etc Again this is helpful for members.
Interests Help others to make contact by giving a few of your interests, if you are in their area you may find some new friends, contacts.
Communicate We have a Private Messaging System (PM) for mailing members, e mail addresses and home addresses ( think carefully before adding a phone number as anyone can read the forum) are removed asap as they are NOT allowed on the forum for good reason.
Don't be shy, if you see another member you would like to ask a question of or give information to or just introduce yourself to then mail them. Strangers are just friends we have not met yet.
Take time out to post on this 'Introductions' forum where you can let us all know a little about you, where you are, what you looking/hoping for etc. No need for a long essay just a few sentences will do.
Remember sometimes it is better to log out and calm down before posting a reply, slanging matches are not pretty at the best of times and on a public forum where anybody can read them it is not advisable.
