Thread: A 1 night stay up to an hour from Malaga

Hi, if anyone has any suggestions to the following it would be greatly appreciated.

I am due to spend 3 days in Benidorm on a stag do and then 5 days in Granada and surrounding areas on an adventure type holiday.

Due to poor planning on my part it would have meant flying back into the UK for around 24 hours then flying back out again to Malaga.

I've decided rather than flying back and forth to hire a car at Alicante and drive along the coast to somewhere within an hour of Malaga. The following morning i can get up and do the rest of the drive to the airport where i can meet up with friends for the adventure holiday.

So........Can anywhere suggest a nice place to stay over for the night within an hour of Malaga. Looking for somewhere to recharge the batteries rather than anywhere too lively, preferably somewhere not too touristy. If you know a reasonably priced hotel or B&B all the better!

Lasy year we twice stayed at the Parador de Golf Malaga. It is only about 10 minutes from the airport. A very nice Hotel and relatively reasonable.

Well, I suppose I have to say Nerja! It is about 45 minutes drive from the airport, and its on the east side which would be better suited for you coming from Benidorm. I have done the drive from Benidorm to Nerja. Its about 4-5 hours, depending upon the number of breaks you take.

There are a number of reasonable hostels and B&B's in Nerja. I suppose the price and availability depends on when you are going. Other nice places that you will pass include Salobreña (90 mins drive from Málaga), Almuñeca (just outside 1 hour), La Herradura (55 mins), Maro (50 mins).

We have a BandB in Isla redonda. We are about one and a half hours from Granada and an hour from malaga airport. If this is of any use to you PM me.

Antequera is a lovely little place that is about 55 mins drive from Malaga.
