    Default Air Europa?

My husband has to book a flight from London Gatwick to Madrid and hopes to catch a specific train from there to Valladolid - if he misses it, he faces a long journey on the trenhotel! There are two flights from Gatwick to Madrid at about the same time, with Air Europa and Easyjet. The flight with Air Europa is due to land at Madrid 10 minutes before the Easyjet flight, and John won't have a lot of time to spare.

HOWEVER, we have never used Air Europa and some reviews don't rate them too highly. Has anybody used both airlines (we know Easyjet as we have used them several times) and especially to Madrid? On paper Air Europa looks the best flight as it should give him an extra 10 minutes, however if they have a bad record on timing it might be safer to book Easyjet. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I have no idea about Air Europa and it has been ages since I flew out from or into Madrid or used LGG all I can say is when we flew a lot we always gave ourselves at least of 2 hrs to navigate any airport. for connecting flight. Your 10 mins could be wiped out by many different factors

Thanks for your reply, Val. We decided to stick with Easyjet, because as you so rightly said many factors can wipe out the 10 minutes. John will book the train he wants, however if the flight is late in he can always catch a bus to Valladolid from the airport instead of the train from Chamartin, as the bus isn't that expensive.
