I have a friend who lives in the Alicante area and uses the service regularly There is a direct line. He is a season ticket holder at Barcelona football club..He said that he prefers to go first class, because although it is more expensive, you get free car parking at Alicante station, and apparently free meals on the train...Can anyone confirm this.
Ibermax... If any of those enquiring are pensioners, they can apply for a discount rail card at Alicante rail station. Val, The Ave line to Alicante is still at the planning stage. They are still arguing over whose houses will have to be knocked down in order to build it. CD Last edited by CDThader; 28-06-2009 at 23:19. |

I travelled just 2 weeks ago from Alicante to Barcelona (St Sants) and back, I went online Renfe and booked saving myself about €40 which covered 2 days car parking at Alicante - I went first class one way - couldn't get the return when I wanted to travel - would recommend this way of travel - getting to the Station in Alicante was another story - but luckily I left myself plenty time and got there eventually. The parking is €20 per day or part thereof - First class return gets you 2 days free parking. Meal is provided depending on time of travel including drinks. You want the Euromed. I was very impressed and will certainly use it again. The more notice you give the better the discounts of up to 60% but you can book up to 60 days in advance with the travel Agent at full price which was about €132. Hope this helps.
