Ah I see asking for breasts, a bust or a chest

    Today's choice is.........

Faltarle a uno un tornillo - To be nuts (literal: to have a screw missing).......I rather like that one ;-)

I asked a shop assistant once where the "cojones" were when I really wanted "cojines" oops! I´m sure I don´t need to translate!

    Here's one of my favourites:

pedir peras al olmo = ask the elm for pears = ask or expect the impossible

My cowriter Theresa has a huge pile of really fun material on Spanish idioms (hope she's going to join the forum but she's up to eyes at the moment with leaking house and husband laid up). You can see some of it at our site, translated and explained.

    Well here's today's pick:

Vaciar el costal = to get it off one's chest (literal: to empty the bag)

    And

Echar leña al fuego = to add fuel to the fire (literal: to throw firewood on the fire)

Ok folks here's a couple more......sorry but my Spanish is getting bad so I need the practice LOL ;-))

Estar en las nubes - to be daydreaming (literal: to be in the clouds)

Tomarle el pelo a uno - to pull someone's leg (literal: to pull someone's hair)
