    Hi Emma,
I would choose one of these small towns: Denia, Moraira, Altea, Calpe.
Marina Alta and Marina Baixa area is my favourite. It's the most beautiful part of Costa Blanca, I dare to say.

    Hi Emma,

There is a town called Ciudad Quesada that is 5 mins from wonderful white beaches and its only 25 minutes south of Alicante airport. You can Google it. There are plenty of shops and restaurants and schools. It even has its own aqua park for the kids.
The population is mixed with English and Spanish predominant but many other people from other northern European countries. I personally think you need the Brits close by if you are not fluent in Spanish yet because it makes life just that bit easier. Your kids will pick it up quickly but it may take you a bit longer.

    Good luck!

    Hi,
A small suggestion..there is school called Sierra Bernia. It is a privately owned coeducational day school. It has been founded in the year 1973 and located close to the village of Alfaz Del Pi.

Although I have to agree the North Costa Blanca is very pictureque and I would have loved to live in El Campello if I could have afforded to.
I live in the South, property at the moment is really good value and there are also some good rental deals with bills included, and it is very cosmopolitan in fact on Torrevieja's padron there are 51 different nationalities, international schools are avaiable if that is your preference but equally good spanish schools, the majority of british kids integrate well and pick up the language much quicker than us oldies

Emma, Rosie has mentioned Ciudad Quesada. I agree with what she says, and they are just about to start the building of a new school in the centre of Quesada. BUT... Unless you like a lot of walking, a car would be a great advantage, as the public transport is less than useless. If you have children of school age, will you be looking for work?? That is not easy to come by these days.
