    Default Foreigners in the UK

Hi there, Im a new poster on here and in reference to something said in my introduction bit I was wondering if the fact that me leaving the UK because there are too many bloody foreigners cloggin up the national health and benefits system and changing the languages in English kids schools and moving to Spain to be away from them is fair.

Someone said it wasnt but I don't agree, what do you guys think? Your with me right?

    Quote from your other thread......

I hope to get out of the UK as soon as I can, its becoming ridiculous here, too few jobs, too few houses and too many foreigners taking what they want and what they can with none of us hard working English people being given a break. Sounds like some spanairds complaining about expats in their country
Its a nanny state mentality over here full of red tape and rules, Spain is full of redtape IF you live legally which of course you intend to do mates who have moved over to Spain in the 90's this is 2009 and vastly different are thriving and say that if you want to be left alone you can be over there. they will be alright if living legally, Spain is cracking down the expat spongers etc

We are coming with not much in our pockets really but I have always been a bit of a wheeler dealer and as long as the transit gets us there I think we will be OK, gung ho "can do" mentality and all that! sounds blooming silly to me jobs are not easy found, making a living is not as easy as most believe and healthcare etc not so easy to find without paying

Read through the threads posted on any expat forum and you will soon find the problems you face.

i agree getting out of the uk
but there is no work out here an the cost of living isn't cheap, as it once was,
all avenues for work have been explored over the years and majority fail, i came here a year ago with 2 of my friends and their families, they both returnedd to the uk in nov,
the building trade has been exploited over the years by too many cowboys so no one will trust a new face
this past year has been very quiet on the tourist side and local business's are feeling the crunch now
best of luck to ya though
you have to try it just dont close the door on the uk just yet till you have settled

Best of luck to you. But please don't come here wanting a "little bit of Britain". IT'S NOT HERE! THIS IS SPAIN. Don't expect the locals to speak your langauge, don't moan about the lack of "British" foods(look for it or make your own), if the local newsagent charges you 4 quid for a 50p copy of the Sun, accept that or don't buy it,when the exchange rate goes through the floor, accept it and remember that the financial policies of Britain are ruled by the Government, which British Voters empowered. Keep in mind the fact that YOU will be an immigrant here, and there are Russian,Polish, Chinese, Indian, Philippino, South Americans and African immigrants here as well and that YOU will have the same status as them. So be Polite to them.
It was us, you and I, the British people, who let Britain become what it is today. So don't complain about it, unless you can say you tried to do something about it.

If you can accept all that you just might make a good life in Spain and I wish you well.

And these people DO bother to learn the language!

SO many extranjeros come over here, not only from Britain, and expect to survive without learning a word of Spanish. They then complain that the Spanish are 'stand-offish'! They are usually the ones who left their countries complaining that there were 'too many bloody foreigners'.

Irony is obviously a lost art-form!!!

Well, I think thats rude people, but thanks for the "welcome"

I know what you are saying about language but I was never good at school so I wont be good at learning, and if I live in an English area why should I??

I'm not being nasty but I mean, if I am living with English people, and dealing with them why should I bother? I don't mind the odd word like cervaza and cafe, but thats about the limit of what I have learned and I have been told it will pretty much do me.

The work side of things is covered, my mates can find me work they said so that should be OK, and they are all English so no worries.

Its fine for people like the Eastern Europeans and Muslims to learn Spanish I guess because they speak a language thats like 8th or 9th spoken in the world, but English is the top language and if people want our money they should make the effort I think.I'm sorry but thats the way I feel and I have never been shy in saying it like it is.

Dunmovin I am serious, I honestly don't know why I should. I respect their right to speak the language they were born with, so why cant they respect my right? There aint too many poles or ruskies learning English round my parts!

    Hi Big Pete

As I've said before I agree the UK has become a nanny state and too many people get benefits etc without contributing.........yobs don't get punishments to fit the crime......pensioners are not treated well.....that is wrong......very wrong........I also strongly disagree with all these free translators in the UK (if you live in a country and you work there you should speak the local language or at least enough to get by).

Now onto Spain, we are the immigrants here and we should make an effort to speak their language........especially if we are planning on working and living here......likewise we should respect their values and cultures and not expect to turn streets, towns etc into "Little England" its something everybody moans about imigrants doing in the UK so we shouldn't do it abroad.........Also if you need to report a crime to Guarda or need state medical care the language is necessary.

Thinks that if all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion
