Costa de la Luz has been around as long as all the others - its just that the Spanish kept it a secret for themselves!
I expect they'll think up something daft next like Costa Calida

CD you bad boy Costa Calida has always existed....its Murcia's Costa.....they are not a greedy provinceand only have he one Costa but until recent years it too was a secret Costa where 99% of holidaymakers were Spanish......it still remains Spanish but many more ex-pats now come too

The name 'Costa del Sol' was originally invented by the Almería tourist board. It was Almeria - Malaga.
I heard that the Costa del Sol used to be called the Costa del Viento but was renamed in the interests of tourism hehe...
