    Val,
Cactii are a mysterious breed. They flower according to some, tempreature, some internal water levels and others enviroment. We have a flower on ours all year round but not all at the same time. We have about 30 different species.

You are all very brave, Cactii and me do not get on, I had them at my last abode, and they kept attacking me, consequently I won't entertain them, in fact anything that can attack is consigned to the heap or firepit!!

    I love cactii
Have quite a number and a couple of them are free flowering ... must look in the book and see what the latin/proper names are

A few years back I went to the cactii gardens on Lanzarote - marvelous place and made me even more interested in the genus

Does anyone know if there is a book available on cactus types. I have many, but havent a clue about their names. I buy them for about 1euro each in the market, but never know how big they are going to grow. Some stay quite small, while others become offensive weapons. I tend now to look for those without the spikes.

I am sure there would be thousands ... if you can manage the spanish try your local biblioteca.
I have often bought on line from Amazon and they (and a few of their agents) deliver worldwide.
I also have a number of books in one series..although not one specifically for cactii - they are The ???? Expert series by Dr DG Hessayon (ie The Lawn Expert, The House Plant Expert etc) and are pubished by pbi Publications of Waltham Cross, Herts.
If you have adsl then use the power of the internet - might be easier to search though the images files ... on any search engine just type in "images cactii"
    Hope thats helpful
