Default Time to remove the brown plants !

After our trip away in August and then my husbands sudden death, my tubs have been somewhat neglected. What do you gardeners recommend for this time of year small window pots and planters and tubs. Something bright and cheery to help keep my spirits up ta.

It is difficult to advise from here, a different climate etc., sometimes reading the posts on the forum, I wonder if I am in a different country. Anyway that is besides the point, have a look at what the neighbours are growing, or if you have one, we don't, have a poke round a plant shop or garden centre.

The other way is to take cuttings off the Geraniums,

Boseley

So much for the seasonal gardener. The weather at the moment is so clement that the Nispero tree is about to bloom again!!! Peppers etc are still going strong as are lettuce and this is November. Plants are reviving and should be closing down for the winter but who is complaining. How is your garden????????

We have a crazy climate here, winter doesn't happen. Potatoes are growing well, I have peppers chillies, tomato seeds have germinated, I have just planted a lime, lemon and grapefruit trees, apples pears and gooseberry, I have ordered from England. I have young marrows to plant out and must take cuttings from all kind of things.

I also have weeds, a mountain of weeds,

Boseley

All the Orange and lemon trees are laden with fruit. They are at there best at the end of November.

Beware you lot planting soft young plants, the frosts can be seriously frosty down here even on the Costa del Sol and I have had frozen pipes and a completely frozen 12 foot banana tree in the past.

The lemons are mostly green and/or mouldy, it had to have a severe prune earlier and is still recovering I think. The oranges are coming on, they are ready January normally. One tree looks fine the other the fruit is looking a little smaller than normal. Time will tell if they are as yummy as normal or not
