Default wild birds

I too Val love the bee eaters, we also have a few pairs of Golden Orials which are beautiful but the best todate has been a Hoopoe (not sure of the spelling) that made my day. But still my ducks hold my heart they are so endearing and follow me everywhere. I am looking forward to having my first eggs for breakfast. Ooh I have wandered off the subject - Thank you baldilocks asking for information on Spanish birds I have been meaning to ask the same question so the info has been very helpfull. p.s. Changing the subject again our Fiesta held last week was a great success, we have been asked to hold another next year. Cheers.

oh how lucky ! I caught a flash of bright yellow once when visiting Portugal and though it was a Golden Oriole, never seen any again. The Hoopoes are all around here in the olive groves love their poop poop poop call

Give us more info on your fiesta, any photographs you could add to an album on your profile ?

A Selection of Wild Flowers f Southern Spain by Betty Molesworth Allen.
Mediterranean Garden Plants by Lorraine Cavanagh [Highly Recommended]
Birds of Britain and Europe [Collins Nature Guide]
Wild Flowers of Britain and Europe. As above
Insects, Reptiles and Butterfly and Moths. All seperate editions by Dorling Kindersley Handbooks.

All these are in full colour and we have found them all very useful. The garden plants book is so, so useful and gives all the plant names in Spanish as well as their common names.
