Thread: Licences / Permits Needed ?

I am spending more and more time in Mallorca and I'm looking to base myself here permanently. I am planning on supplying mattresses made in England and having them delivered by a licenced carrier to peoples properties on the Island. Does anyone know if I need any work permits or import licences in place or anything else that I haven't thought of ?

Hi Bungee! Welcome... If you are importing from the UK (EU) I doubt you would require any special import license. To work in Spain you will need to register as a sole trader (Autonomo) or as an enterprise (Sociedad Limitada/Sociedad Limitada Unipersonal/Sociedad Anonima, etc.). You can also register your business as a EU trader in order to avoid paying double VAT tax. If you are in Mallorca now I suggest you visit a "Gestoria" to get the full details on the options you have they should be able to clarify every detail.
