I am starting an online Spanish store. Would anybody who has a love for Spain or who is thinking of moving & living in Spain let me know what they would like to see in the store? Thanks Paul |

Hi Paul
Glad you are making use of the Doing business in Spain forum section. When you get a chance, you might want to drop a short hello and background info in the introduction forum. As for your business perhaps you can elaborate a bit, I'm not sure if you are selling Spanish products? Or English products in Spanish? Or is it food? ........... I also invite you to take advantage of our spain business directory to list your website when its ready. And once you have made 5 posts on the Absolute Spain Forum you can include a reference to your store/business/website in your profile signature

Hi Greg,
Thanks for your reply. Could you please tell me how to change my user name becuase I didn't (at least I think I didn't) choose my e-mail address! I chose Donkey OT but I don't know what happened. The online business will be selling quality products and services that are Spanish or have a Spanish theme or interest or about Spain. We already have some great products from suppliers who have come on board but I would like to know what prospective buyers would like to see or need from it? Kind regards Paul |

Ok I understand so will you be targetting expats living here or people from around the world interested in Spain/Spanish products?

Yes, That's the idea Greg.
The project is set out as 3 phases, the first being products such as books, (help moving to Spain, Driving in Spain, recipes, Flamenco etc), Music, DVD's, language courses etc. 2nd phase. A kind of directory for quality services for expats vetted & reffered by satisfied customers. 3rd phase. Spanish food and wine/sherry but this will be working in partnership with someone who is already doing this and has all the health & safety and other required licenses. |

Wow sounds great I like the idea. Have you considered offering typical Spanish objects like tiles, painted plates, perhaps even jewelry and the like?

Hi Paul and welcome.
Yours is the first on line venture of its type I have heard of and I wish you every success. I watch a few foody UK programmes and given their huge current interest in chorizo and spanish cheeses, I am sure you can find a market there and introduce them to more of our culinary delights. One of the items I find my holidaymakers love to take back are garden items - specifically ceramic house name letters, wall plates and wall hanging containers ( the type you see adorning houses at flower festivals further inland from me) . They are often very interested in the small wall attached fountains but cannot fit them in their suitacses ! |

Hi Anis,
Thank you for the welcome. The food & drink is something we will be adding in the furture. There are a lot of regulations regarding health & safety etc so we will be teaming up with a company already established in the business of exporting these goods. Regarding the garden items, thank you! I know the ceramic house name letters are popular. |

Another product that might be of interest to your buyers, Paul, are some of the finely worked leather and silver goods I have seen made by craftsmen up in Ronda. Very typically Spanish but not tacky.
I am sure they practice the craft in other areas too. We were quite impressed with the work and watched one of them making items. We bought a beautiful studded belt for my husband on our last visit. How about some prettily painted ladies fans for the UK, for when they have that hot Summer the met office keep promising them, |
