I totally agree with you, Telefonica is a nightmare.

I remember when my family first moved to Spain it took months to just get a landline!!

Nowadays the nightmare seems to have even expanded, Vodafone is a joke.. Yoigo (one of the newest cell phone companies) is hell... The list goes on...

We've had three attempts to get a Telefonica landline installed but they keep telling us its not possible despite people at the end of the road having a fixed land lines.....

I heard BT is in parts of Spain and I am keeping my fingers crossed they come to San Pedro del Pinatar soon........we have a microwave service currently which is very up and down in wind or rain ;-))

Wow I can't believe this is still an issue!!

Maybe Telefonica should have covered the whole of Spain before expanding to South America!

We had no trouble with our Telefonica until a freak flash of lightening hit the exchange and took out all the modems in the area. They wanted to charge us for coming out and charge us for new modemAND instalation NO WAY Jose

We have changed to YA.com no problems so far other than flamimg cold calling by Orange (assoc to Ya.com) and YA.com calling and trying to convert us !!!!! We both had a real go at them in last few days suggesting they check their database and stop calling. Basta Ya !

I did hear some time ago that Telefonica would not install lines to anything less than 40 houses ! Don't know if that is still the case.

    Spanish Property 2012

I'm still waiting for my landline after 9 years !
Like Jazmines11, I can see the connection pole down the road but they refuse to come to the last houses at the end of our village,
I am stuck with my trusty digi box on the wall which can be temperamental esp. in this weather for some reason and it doesnt allow for fax connection.
