    Default No it isn't

It's always the property insiders making these kind of claims. See my article giving 10 reasons why the Spanish property market ISN'T about to turn.

Totally agree with you, bakeja... You can see under another article on SpanishNews.es today that independent property portal fotocasa reports not such great figures....

Very much impressed with your article too.

I have to say in Calpe the market has picked up(slightly), particularly the bottom end of the market. Most of the purchasers seem to be German and Dutch rather than Brits.

Hey calpe1stop, what exactly do you mean with this? Are you selling? Are local statistics showing this? Or is it just the "word on the street"?

I am involved in sales and I have seen an upturn in sales and enquiries also the agents I associate with have said similar. It's not a boom by any stretch of the phrase but more greenshoots. As I said I can only comment on my area. Also the "word on the street" ie. people in bars without any inside knowledge LOL are saying similar. I only deal in property in a tight area to my base so it's possible I am in a micro area which is bucking the trend. On a personal note I have a golf apartment near Murcia and the people I have spoken to in that area aren't mirroring my experiences.

    Spanish Property 2012

I have been building, promoting properties here for the last 21 years. I have seen a recent increase in enquiries, but as far as sales go, very few.
I feel that the people enquiring are going to miss the boat as happened in 2003 when prices where very low and good exchange rates.
The enquiries now are definately for the cheaper end of market and all need a mortgage so thats difficult to organise with the banks.
In this climate we just need a few good clients willing to part with their money and a few good sales to start the ball rolling.
I agree the Dutch market seems to be top at the moment.

Personal feeling is that the building / housing trade is at a complete standstill here for the next two years at least.
