    This is a joke right???????

Don't you just love the gullible.

FIRST: There is NO, I repeat, NO approval for any airport site. What there has been (and has been for many years longer than any expat got here) lots of political talk with no-one ruling it out. Permission HAS been given to carry out viability studies with a view to backing one of these in the future. Since then the world economy has slumped so go figure.

SECOND: There is NO, I repeat, NO site for said airport project. It is not even known where it will be, and if anyone says Gibraleon or Lepe they may as well get back on a plane (from Faro or Seville of course!) and retreat to the UK cos they aint doing well with the local press.

THIRD: Why on earth would Huelva need an airport????????????????? Do you have any idea of the geography here??? After Huelva city (pop. 140,000-ish) there are only three towns with a population higher than 20,000, the largest of which is Lepe at around 25,000 (Almonte and Isla Cristina being the others). Faro Airport is 30 mins from the bridge, Seville airport an hour and 15 the other way. Sure, if we had a populatioin similar to Cadiz province (Cadiz city 135,000, Jerez 210,000, San Fernando, Puerto Real, Chiclana, El Puerto - all with a pop. of over 90,000 each) then yes a small airport like that in Jerez would be warranted. But remember that is suffering, with lots of routes (notably the Brit ones) cancelles in recent years.

This airport is a pipe dream perpetuated by the fanciful Huelva politicians with penis envy and the mainly Brit estate agents desperate to demonstrate that their 'jewel in the crown' Esuri project isn't the white elephant everyone around here (except the Brits) know it to be

    Spanish Property 2012

Check out its location on Google Earth...
    Latitude: 37.266666N 6.95W...

50Kms from anywhere including Huelva; sounds like a good place for Ryanair to fly to; he could call it err... let me think now...Madrid?...Barcelona?...Lisbon?
I mean anyone who can call Hahn Frankfurt or Prestwick Glasgow or Stansted London could really get away with calling it anything he wanted...

No roads, no railway; sounds the ideal place really...
