I found an interesting article on wages in the Murcia region.....I cut and pasted an extract below.....
There are wide variations in earnings between the sexes and also against foreign workers.
The latest data from the Spanish tax office, Agencia Tributaria, shows that 187,000 workers in the Murcia region earn less than 600 € a month. The number is 30% of the total 630,658 salaried workers in the region.
Most of these are students and temporary workers.
At the other end of the scale the data shows that some 2,800 in the region earn about 10,000 € a month.
The difference between the sexes remains, with the average wage for men in 2007 being 1,459 € a month, while for women it was 1,032 €.
Spanish workers earned an average 1,396 €, while foreign workers earned an average 775 €.
Are other regions seeing the same thing?
