    Default Camposol - Advice Needed

Hi all. New to the forums. I am a Brit/Ausie but have lived in Norway the past 25 years. My wife and I are looking at buying a property in Spain. Our dream is to have a place to spend summers as well as shorter breaks when the opportunity arises. We have been visiting Spain frequently for a while to check out the different areas. So far the Costa Calida appeals to us the most, although the Costa Blanca (Girona in particular) has the most frequent flights from this part of the world.

Looking at Costa Calida I see that the urbanization area Camposol (Mazzaron) has a lot of properties for sale at hugely reduced prices. After doing some research I understand there have been some problems with the developer, subsidence and the local government in the area. However.. at the same time I see a lot of positive comments from people who have properties there. Last but not least.. IF the rumored Paramount development goes ahead then I would expect prices to skyrocket in the area..

At the moment it would seem to be a buyers market to say the least, but what are the chances of buying a "pig in a poke" in Camposol?

What is the current situation re the infrastructure problems in the area?

    Cheers

    Bill

    Hi Bill

You're right there are many bargains to be had all over Spain right now. If the Paramount development does go I ahead then yes, I suspect it will have a positive impact on the Murcia economy and on property prices in the surrounding areas.

We looked at Mazzaron back in 2003 but it wasn't for us. Mazzaron Country Club was a bit like Arabian Knights and as golf is not our thing......

You might find just what your looking for in Camposol (Mazzaron), my advice would be to rent somewhere for a few months over the summer period and really check out the area. Pay a visit at least a couple of times out of season just so that you're sure the area offers everything you want. Also by renting first you'll be in prime position to check out what is for sale, whether it's potentially problematic and whether the price is reasonable ;-)
Thinks that if all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion

Thanks for the reply. Some very good advice there.

Can anyone point us to some other urbanizations in the Costa Calida region that are well established and "up and running"?

    Thanks again

One more thing, Camposol villas are preconstructed concrete. They are built of site, actually in Torrevieja and transported to site and erected. If one of these properties move then that is it forever you cannot repostion them.
