Default Ferry journey from San Javier Airport to La Manga Strip

We usually hire a car when we visit our apartment on the La Manga Strip but when I visit in May I'm just coming out with my Mum and wondering whether we need bother with a car this time. I've used the ferry to nip across the water for some lunch before but never as a means of getting from the airport to the apartment. How easy is it to get from the airport to the ferry, would we need to get a Taxi or is it walking distance? Any info greatly appreciated.

I'm only aware of the ferry from Thomas Maestro to Santiago del La Ribera and you would definitely need a taxi from Santiago de la Ribera to San Javier airport OR you'd need to catch the bus.
Thinks that if all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion

Thanks JazminesII, I think we'll probably just stick to hiring a car then as knowing our luck we'll end up missing the ferry and needing a taxi which will cost just as much as the car hire! LOL! :-))
