    Default English food in Spain

Hi my name is Chris, and I am looking to start bringing English food over to the Barcelona, Llorett area.
Just doing a little bit of digging to see if there is a Market for it. Also any foods that you miss and would like. I am looking to do the trip twice a month, so it will be a regular thing

Good afternoon and welcome to the Absolute Spain Forum.

There seems to be many people involved or wanting to be involved in this type of business on here and around, one which I would not use sorry. As I have said on other threads, many of the stores around here sell a choice of british goods should anyone want them. Carrefour, El Corte Ingles (inc Hypecor) , Supersol and Mercadona all stock various british lines.

    Hi Chris,

Welcome to the Absolute Spain Forum!

I believe there is already such a store in Lloret. I think another in Sitges and one recently opened in the city here in Barcelona.

Hey Chris, you go for it!. I started a food round way back in 1988 in Torrevieja Spain, I had a million pounds turnover in the second year.
I think the seceret is to have a mobile round delivering to all the brit bars and to brit shops as well as doing home deliveries. Dont tie your self to being in one small shop standing in the doorway waiting for customers.
    You go for it.

Ah now a mobile shop ! that was a life saver for me when living way out in the country back in Scotland. The post office was within walking distance BUT all I remember it selling was sanitary towels, envelopes and digestive biscuits she never had the postal orders I needed and could not do a money transfer up north for my then husband who worked away from home. Useless it was ! Mind you I was an 'incomer' and they had be there at least 20 years not to be considered one, never mind I had married a local lad was born and bred there. Aye nought as queer as folk and I am probably just as quirky in some folks eyes

That was my thinking, will be setting up a web site, when I am ready to start the runs, so people can order stuff online then have it delivered.

    Default English Food in Spain

    Good luck

In this climate setting up any new business is hard and there are many places to get these goods aready. I hope this venture works for you but dont invest to much in it until you know your market

    Default English food

Best of luck with the business,

Be careful when you start the runs, that it is not caused by the English food.

    Question

    Spanish Property 2012

Hi Could any of you tell me - is it against the law to sell food products from the Uk in Spain, bearing in mind no IVA would have been paid on entering Spain.
