Thread: English food in Spain

The vat (iva) on food in spain is 6%, milk products 3%. There is no problem importing food, but to resell it on in Spain it has to be labelled in Spanish even if brits are the only ones who buy it. That is the law.
You must have purchased the foodstuff from somewhere so you will have a bill of sale. If you give your UK bill of sale to your accountant , they can put it against your books. Then you can declare what sales that you want.

Be warned remember the stickers!

I mport English Food into Spain. I have an Enbglish supermarket in barcelona and am opening anotherin two weeks. You do have to pay IVA on any imports into Spain to comply with the regulations. all food products in Spain have IVA on them ranging from 4 - 16% unlike the UK where it is only luxury products which carry 17%

Hi, Could I just say, that within 20kms I have 3 ICELAND supermarket superstores. Where you can get every uk product at reasonable prices.
There are also at least 50 small independant UK brit shops.
There are at Least 15 UK wholesalers here all competeing against each other.
